Auction of one-of-a-kind
jewelry from the
International Jewelry Designers Guild raises $11,400.50 to help victims of
Hurricane Katrina
The lucky high bidders at
www.jewelryforkatrina.com were
able to purchase beautiful, one-of-a-kind designer jewelry, sometimes at a
fraction of the retail value and help a great cause. The jewelry designers
donated 100% of the
winning bids to BRAF - the Baton Rouge Area Fund - to help the victims of
Hurricane Katrina, and many covered the shipping costs out of their own pockets.
The auction ended on September 23, 2005.

July 2002
Polished & Put-Together jewelry designer Margaret Schindel selected as QVC 2002 Emerging Designer Award finalist
The QVC Emerging Designer Award is an exciting new award to recognize the next
generation of emerging jewelry designers - especially new designers and designers whose jewelry designs have never been mass-produced. The criteria for judging the entrants and their jewelry include appearance, creativity, craftsmanship, potential marketability and suitability for production.
A panel of celebrity judges helped to select the ten finalists, including Polished & Put-Together jewelry designer Margaret Schindel. Samples of the finalists' entries were posted on the QVC Web site and members of the public were invited to vote for
their favorite designers.
QVC aired the designs of winner Ava Yetter and runners-up Nina Segal and Antoinette Faragallah on July 9, 2002 at 7 p.m. Polished & Put-Together congratulates all three on this achievement! |
